Our Story

In the kitchen in between cake moulds and spatulas is Silvina, the founder of By Sil Pâtisserie, pastry chef, born in General Las Heras – Province of Buenos Aires- Argentina.

From a young age, her passion for cooking, especially pastries and desserts was formed while watching her mother Inés, make wonderful and delicious desserts. Lemon pie, tiramisu, and pasta frola are Silvina’s, favourite, due to their smooth sweet, fresh and wonderful flavours.

However, it took a few years, lots of study and baking to form her own style and for her dream of owning her own pastry business to turn into reality.

Today with Joe, the love of her life, and with her place in Warrandyte, Australia she could realise her dreams and so honour her heritage and keep the tradition going.

Driven By

Desserts should always be delicious from the first to last bite. One should taste the delicate flavour combinations of each different layer. We hope this triggers happy memories of wondeful times spent with loved ones.

We experiment with different ingredient combinations, keep up to date with new trends, seek out new and modify existing recipes enabling us to continually offer unique, yet delicious tasting experiences.

We are flexible and can accommodate customers’ requests, while still maintaining our delicate balance of flavour, sweetness and texture, which we are known for.

My love and passion for baking is the reason I started By Sil Pâtisserie. We strive to make every dessert a wonderful and delicious experience for everyone to enjoy.
